Gregor Mendel was an Austrian friar and scientist who discovered the Laws of Heredity and is called the Father of Modern Genetics. He formulated the laws of Mendelian Genetics. He specifically used pea plants in his studies. Initially, his research was rejected by many, but was later uncovered and widely used.
